Service of Process & Litigation Services
A quick excerpt from Columbia Law School web-page explains:
āA Notice of Petition (also known as a dispossess) tells you what will happen if you do not come to court to answer your petition. A Petition tells you why your landlord is taking you to court. If you do not answer your petition promptly, the landlord will automatically win, and you will be evicted.ā

Process Service is when legal documents such as summonses, complaints, subpoenas, writs and other court documents are delivered to the individual to whom the legal document is directed. It is important to note that the Service of Process must be served by an individual who is not a party to the case. A process server delivers, (or serves), legal documents to a defendant or an individual involved in a court case.
As we all know all know social media sites such as Facebook, MySpace, Twitter LinkedIn has become an intricate part of our lives. These sites allow us to connect to our colleges, new and old friends and professional acquaintances on a daily basis. We openly share our opinions, daily struggles, health, current and future plans and pictures. Sharing this personal information can be virtually instantaneous and, of course, worldwide. It is estimated that there over 800 million registered Facebook users worldwide and there are over 150 million tweets every day.
A lawsuit is a civil action brought before a court of law in which a plaintiff, a party who claims to have received damages from a defendantās actions, seeks a legal or equitable remedy. The defendant is required to respond to the plaintiffās complaint. If the plaintiff is successful, judgment will be given in the plaintiffās favor, and a range of court orders may be issued to enforce a right, award damages, or impose an injunction to prevent an act or compel an act. A declaratory judgment may be issued to prevent future legal disputes.
The New York Three (3) Day Notice to Quit, also known as a āRent Demandā or āDemand for Rentā, is a type of real estate document used by landlords when a tenant residing in one of their rental units fails to pay rent on the date due. By serving this notice, the tenant will have 3 days following of notice to pay rent. New York state law does not require a notice to be in writing unless it is stated in the rental agreement. However, having it in writing is still the best choice for any landlord.
