WRM Security Services Process Services Agency is an "Essential Business"
Today, March 25. 2020 we received word from the New York State Professional Process Servers Association President Jason Tallman that the New York State Empire Development Corporation legal team has deemed Process Servers and Process Server Agencies as an "Essential Business." In the correspondence sent out to all members the NYSPPSA reached out to the New York State Empire Development Office on March 22, 2020.for a legal determination. This means we can work if an emergency service of process is issued by a New York State Court.
The Administrative Order of the CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE JUDGE OF THE COURTS is still in effect. This order outlines the essential matters that will be accepted by the courts.
The order reads as follows:
Pursuant to the authority vested in me, in light of the emergency circumstances caused by
the continuing COVID-19 outbreak in New York State and the nation, and consistent with the
Governor of New York's recent executive order suspending statutes of limitation in legal
matters, I direct that, effective immediately and until futher order, no papers shall be accepted
for filing by a county clerk or a court in any matter of a type not included on the list of essential
matters attached as Exh. A. This directive applies to both paper and electronic filings.
